Internal use only. This is the manual product list behind the children's-clothing tax overrides: 5% in ON, NS and PE (the GST portion only) and 0% provincial tax in BC and MB. It is not storefront navigation and is not merchandised. Lulujo's store carries an equivalent collection under the same name.
On this store the BC and MB overrides do real work. Newbornlander charges BC PST 7% and MB RST 7% on ordinary goods, so a product left out of this collection is charged 7% provincial tax in those provinces on top of the extra HST in ON, NS and PE. Adding an eligible product is worth 8 points in Ontario and 7 points in BC and Manitoba.
In scope — CRA GI-063 eligible children's goods: worn garments designed for babies and children (sleepers, pajamas, sweaters, rompers, 2-piece sets, hats, beanies, pilot hats, sun hats), baby footwear, swim diapers, bibs, and swaddles / receiving blankets. Hat-and-swaddle sets qualify because every component is worn.
Out of scope — anything sized for adults, which on this store means the - Adult hat lines and the scrub caps; accessories that are not garments (pom-poms, pacifier and bottle leashes, cotton bags); quilts, milestone blankets and other crib or stroller blankets; hooded towels; car seat covers; gift sets that mix clothing with non-clothing; and all toys, plush, teethers, feeding gear, bottles, cards and bath products.
Verify after every change with a draftOrderCalculate test: a member ships at 5% to ON / NS / PE and at GST-only to BC and MB, while a non-member draws 13% / 14% / 15% and picks up BC PST or MB RST. Shopify does not expose tax overrides through the Admin API, so this calculation is the only way to confirm the override is live and correctly scoped. Last reviewed 17 September 2026.
