Our founder, Constanza Safatle, was a commercial lawyer in Chile, but after moving to Newfoundland and Labrador, she had to redefine her path as an immigrant in Canada. So she decided to start her own business sewing baby accesories.
Seeing the impact of the products she made for her children, she realized the potential to create something bigger—a tool for positive change.

In 2017, Constanza founded Newbornlander, not just as a brand, but as a movement. Inspired by her commitment to social justice, community, and empowerment, Newbornlander has become a disruptor in the textile business, providing opportunity and mentorship to immigrant and refugee women.
